The 2012 San Diego County Fair, presented by Albertsons/Sav-on, has many ways for Fairgoers to save money.
Albertsons $4 Fair Days are Opening Day, Friday, June 8, and Tuesday, June 12. Special $4 discounted tickets are only available for purchase at San Diego County Albertsons/Sav-on stores, with a $10 minimum purchase when using an Albertsons Preferred Card. Regular adult admission is $13. Tickets are now on sale.
Discounted Admission Tickets: Throughout the run of the Fair, Albertsons/Sav-on offers adult admission tickets for $11. That’s a $2 savings! While you’re there, you can buy regular-price senior and children’s tickets as well, and bypass the ticket line when you get to the Fair.
Discounted Admission Tickets: The fair offers those who have been on unemployment during the past 12 months free admission on two Tuesdays. Two free Fair tickets are available for such individuals if they present an unemployment check stub from within the last 12 months and a photo ID at the will-call window next to the O’Brien Gate (main gate) on either Tuesday, June 19 or Tuesday, June 26.
Best Pass Ever: With this season pass, which is $24, you can come to the Fair whenever you want and stay as long as you want. The Best Pass Ever is valid June 8 – July 4 and can be purchased at the Fairgrounds Box Office or online at www.sdfair.com/tickets now through July 2.
Auto dealers are offering Fair tickets at a discount: After June 1, two groups of auto dealers will have discount coupons, valid weekdays only. Visit a San Diego County Ford Dealer and get a 4-tickets-for-$28 coupon. That’s Fair admission for $7 each, nearly a 50 percent discount. At San Diego County Toyota dealers, coupons will admit two adults for the price of one, a savings of $13.
Kids’ Day: Every Tuesday children 12 and younger get free admission to the Fair. Also, children 12 and younger who read 10 or more age-appropriate books, and have that verified by a teacher or librarian, will be rewarded with free admission any day of the Fair. Rules and forms can be downloaded at www.sdfair.com/tickets.
Every Friday is Pennysaver Value Day: All attendees receive a free PennySaver Value Day coupon booklet with over $500 in discounts, two-for-one values, and other savings from Fair merchants.
Pepsi Pay-One-Price Ride Day: Every Wednesday and Thursday through June 28, purchase a $30 wristband at Fun Zone ticket booths, good for unlimited rides from noon to 8 p.m. Also, the wristband can be purchased online before attending the Fair – it will then be good on one of our “bonus days.” Go to www.sdfair.com/rideday for more information.
Save even more on Pepsi Pay-One-Price Ride Day with a $5 discount coupon from Albertsons! Starting May 30, go to any San Diego County Albertsons/Sav-on and purchase a select Pepsi product using an Albertsons Preferred Savings Card to get this coupon, worth $5 off the price of the Pay-One-Price wristband redeemed at any Fair carnival ticket booth or online.
Another money-saving feature is Taste of the Fair Tuesday. Small portions of the Fair’s food items are featured for only $2 every Tuesday at more than 100 Fair food booths. This is perfect for smaller appetites, or for those who want to “graze” their way through the Fair!
Buy your child a Kids’ Meal Deal at selected vendors. The $5.99 meal includes an entrée, side dish and drink, plus a child’s admission to each of the following venues with a paid adult admission: Living Coast Discovery Center (formerly the Chula Vista Nature Center), the Reuben H.
